Just like to thank Robert for a great day of tuition and bike setup.

First off Robert is nice guy and very professional but still on of that lads and easy to have a laugh with which always eases the nerves! The day started with a very comprehensive technical inspection of the bikes mine being the first up. He covers so much from tire pressures, bar position and even checked my mixture setting. Not only checking and adjusting but explaining why these adjustments matter.

We then spent a good chunk of time doing figure of eights.. real basic stuff.. or more importantly fundamental stuff. Myself and the other three guys could all ride a bike but trying to master what seems like such a simple thing was far from it! Robert wasn’t pulling any punches.. if you got it wrong he told you and put you straight again all good fun. We then set off to a small trials section he’d set out and again it looked easy but it wasn’t! However he explained things and it really did make sense and you felt things improving the more you thought about what was been explained to you. Final session of the day was as steps section myself and my mate regularly get up but again.. breaking it down and looking at our technique we were clearly crashing up it previously with little skill. The day has really made me think about my technique and makes me want to get out and practise!

Overall a great day, whether you’ve never ridden a trials bike before or have been riding for years. Robert is a great teacher and very accomplished rider all making for a enjoyable and informative day and above all fun and money well spent! ”

I attended a course with Rob at the Trials Park in Suffolk recently and loved every minute of it. I’ve been riding for 18 years and wasn’t sure what to expect – but I soon learned a lot of new things about my bike set-up and then about my riding.

Rob’s approach is simple but very effective. He set out some straightforward (and then harder) sections and could quickly spot where I could improve and he could explain this very clearly and then help me to practice and to improve my technique. After just a couple of hours I could feel a real difference in my techniques and ability to clean obstacles and look forward to putting this into practice.

The whole course was done with a good injection of humour and fun from Rob so if you get the chance to attend one of his trial courses then I would highly recommend it and I will certainly look for the opportunity to go again.

Thanks Rob for the trials training day at corton trial park, I really enjoyed it and value your tuition and trials techniques highly, it’s a must have skill to learn that everyone needs to get on the right track, me and the other riders are all keen to get out to keep brushed up on what you taught us and look forward to doing it again in the future..you the man rob ..nice one…

Hi Rob,

Thanks for today. I really enjoyed it. You really do have incredible patience.

Hi Rob, many thanks for yesterday’s training session, you’ve given me several very useful points to practice and we all had a great enjoyable day.

Let me know about doing some more in a few months’ time?

Johnny

Gareth Johnston: “As a relative newcomer to trials, I can’t recommend this enough. We covered bike set-up, fundamentals on positioning and cornering; before taking that in to practice sections to put it all together. I have plenty to go away and practice but will definitely be back in the future, to build on that.”
